Busy Day Soundtrack, anyone?

Busy day at work!

On the way home I listened to:
M.I.A.'s Arular (Wikipedia, All Music Guide)
and
G. Love's G. Love & Special Sauce (Wikipedia, All Music Guide)

Off to the movies soon! Saw Invincible this weekend, and it was great. Next up is Hollywoodland!

Sure, it's actually not from his bachelor party. It's from when I was about 2 years old maybe? 3? Anyway... I like the picture, and this is really just a test to see how this whole photo blogging thing works out.

Hope it does!

First Post, for real

What a day to begin. This is my umpteenth blog and who knows if I'll keep it up, but for now, I plan to, I think that I will this time, and I'm starting off with my thoughts on today... the day after the day 5 years ago.

Remarkable things that I've come across today: Keith Obermann's commentary on yesterday's anniversary.

Music I was listening to in the car this morning: Soul Coughing's Ruby Vroom. (Wikipedia, All Music Guide) This CD is great, and it was good driving music on my second morning driving to work.

Thoughts:
It's an interesting day, less quiet than yesterday here in the office. We've got a big event coming up next week so there's a bunch of buzz around that. Meanwhile, I'm still reeling a bit from all the 9/11 coverage yesterday. It still feels very visceral to watch footage, especially of New Yorkers wandering through the dust, wearing it, breathing it, looking lost.

Meanwhile I agree with the general consensus that Bush's speech last night was an ugly ugly show. Back to the link up above, I really appreciated Obermann's perspective and his commentary felt like it brought me back down from the shock factor that the TV gave me yesterday.

Life seems made up of so many average days, so much routine, so much pattern, and it's interesting to see days where everyone joins together in dispelling that notion of routine. Clearly September 11th will not pass as just another day for quite some time here in America, or perhaps anywhere, and I think that's a good thing.

Anyway, back to work!
