Well, I don't know if anybody else is having a hard time convincing their eyes to stay open after staring deep into the CNN ridiculousness until well after 1AM, but I think it was worth it.
While around 9PM it looked like Hillary had pulled out a somewhat reasonable margin in Indiana and Barack had hit one out of the park in NC, by the time I finally allowed my head to hit the pillow it was quite different, with the margin in Indiana down to 2% or less, and with NC staying up near 14%... a result I for one thought was quite decisive indeed.
Still, perhaps the most interesting development of the evening was CNN's discovery that Obama is, in fact, running against a space alien from Star Trek. Seriously, though, it's truly a new day today and if you need something to convince you of that, perhaps the best post I've seen around is this one from the Jed Report. The content is about changes to his blog, but the picture says it all. It's time to look forward to November and beyond.

It is funny what a difference a day makes. When I went to bad last night, it still looked like a slightly more decisive Clinton victory. But I noticed all the papers today talked about Obama's big night. Very good for him indeed. I was begining to wonder what would happen. I really thought clinton had been effective in sowing doubts about Obama, but it looks less likely now.
Looking around today it does feel like something has shifted. There's a general election sort of wind in the air...
So here's an interesting question:
Somebody suggested yesterday, in a conversation, that it makes no sense for the Democratic party for Hillary to drop out now. If she did, Obama would still likely lose West Virginia and Kentucky, hence the presumptive nominee would lose the first two primaries after his biggest rival dropped out, hence weakening his stature overall. If, instead, she sticks it out through Oregon then it was suggested that she could let Oregon, "Take him over the top," and then gracefully drop out.
Now, I don't think the Clintons have displayed a ton of altruistic concern for the party above their own campaign or anything along those lines... but this idea seemed to make a certain kind of sense to me.
Personally, I'm a little surprised we didn't seen more super delegates coming out for Obama yesterday, but still, I think the remainder of the week should be interesting.
